My mission

Software has cost
money for
long enough.

Simple software costs almost nothing to run today. So it shouldn't cost you anything either. Games and tools, free for everyone – with more added every month.

Only things with ongoing costs, like AI, cost a few cents here. Far less than with the big tech guys.

And if it doesn't exist yet, you'll soon build it yourself: just tell me what you need. No coding skills needed.

Everyone enjoys great software for free. Anyone can build their own.

The classic game, now live

StadtLandBlitz brings the popular Categories game (Stadt-Land-Fluss) straight to your browser – no download, no registration. Play live with up to seven friends simultaneously or completely on your own against the clock. A wheel of fortune selects the letter, everyone fills in the same seven categories, and whoever finishes first hits STOP. The others then have ten seconds left. This keeps the game feeling just as exciting as around the kitchen table.

How a round works

Global high score and new categories

All rounds from all players are entered into a global high score. Your best round counts per letter; in the event of a tie, the faster time wins. If only one person has given a specific answer so far, it earns 20 points – if someone enters the same one later, the value drops to 10 for both. If a letter appears for the third time, fresh categories await you. With sound, confetti, and a winner's podium, every round leaves you wanting a rematch.

Who is StadtLandBlitz for?

Can I play Categories online with friends for free?

Yes, StadtLandBlitz is completely free and runs directly in your browser. You don't need to register or download anything – simply start a game, share the code, and start playing.

How many people can play at the same time?

Two to eight people can play simultaneously in each round. If you don't have anyone to play with, you can also compete solo against the clock.

How are the answers verified in StadtLandBlitz?
