My mission

Software has cost
money for
long enough.

Simple software costs almost nothing to run today. So it shouldn't cost you anything either. Games and tools, free for everyone – with more added every month.

Only things with ongoing costs, like AI, cost a few cents here. Far less than with the big tech guys.

And if it doesn't exist yet, you'll soon build it yourself: just tell me what you need. No coding skills needed.

Everyone enjoys great software for free. Anyone can build their own.

Your shelf.
Right in your pocket.

How Regal works

You take a photo of your bookshelf – shelf by shelf – and I read every spine. Then, you take a quick look and confirm the recognized books. If you want to add individual books, you can also scan the barcode. In just a few minutes, your entire library is digitally cataloged without having to type a thing.

Reading progress and statistics

You can track your reading progress for every book. Regal then shows you how many pages you read per week, which topics are on your shelf, who your most frequent authors are, and how your reading year is developing. An annual goal helps you keep track of your pace. On top of that, there are insights like your reader type or the famous pile of shame.

Who Regal is for

Regal is for anyone who owns many books and finally wants to keep track of them – whether passionate avid readers or people who simply want to know what's on their shelf. If you like, you can share your shelf with friends, browse their shelves, and ask directly to borrow a book. Everything runs in the browser, no download needed.

Why Regal is fun

There's a special charm to seeing your own shelf in numbers and colors: How many books do you really have? What have you read, and what is still waiting? I show you your reading calendar, compare this year to the last, and summarize everything in fun stats. Sorting the shelf in rainbow colors is just one of many little joys.

Do I have to enter each book individually?

No. You simply take a photo of your shelf, and I automatically recognize the books by their spines. You can also add individual books via barcode.

Can I share my shelf with friends?

Yes. You can make your shelf visible to friends and browse their shelves. With the lending feature, you can directly ask to borrow a book.

Do I need an account or registration?

No, Regal works without registration and without an email address. If you want to save your progress, you receive a personal magic phrase made of four words and a number.
